- Danny’s Bar
Dannys is the local neighborhood dive bar in Downtown Westerly. Come in to play some pool, golden tee, bubble hockey, or shuffleboard. Be warned the locals are very competitive when it comes to shuffleboard. Whether you are just wanting to have a drink at the bar or enjoy tunes from the juke box there is something for everyone. One great thing about Danny’s is that all crowds can enjoy Danny’s which just adds to fun.
2. Vintage Cigar Lounge & Club
This low key establishment in downtown is perfect if you enjoy quiet time and some smoke. The owners continue to grow and expand by offering plenty of spots to smoke and sit, as well as a backroom for meetings or private parties and memberships for the frequent visitor. Vintage Cigar Lounge offers over 400 premium cigars that are stored in their climate controlled walk-in humidor along with a full bar stocked with your favorite beverages. If you aren’t able to make it for sit down service then you can always do their grab-an-go options.
3. Flipside:
Remember when we mentioned pinball bars? Well Flipside is THE pinball bar in Westerly. Flipside offers a very unique craft beer selection that has something for everyone as well as a carefully selected wine list. They always seem to have some event happening. Flipside is an awesome experience as they are serious about pinball and drinking! They even offer pinball leagues for people looking to do something fun, different or if you are a hard core enthusiasts.
4. Malted Barley
The Malted Barley is a gem in Downtown Westerly with their offerings of craft beers, sandwiches, and pretzels. Their pretzels are made fresh daily and every pretzel is rolled and stuffed by hand and made to order. The options are vast and aren’t like any other pretzel you’ve had before. Come for beer and food and stay because of the atmosphere. This three story bar has 37 beers on tap. Stay on the main second floor and be close to the bar and live music or go downstairs to play bar games or head upstairs for the DJ and TVs. The Malted Barley has something for everybody and is the perfect spot. Not only does this 227 seating bar and restaurant host events, but you can also book the space for parties. Be warned you will crave their pretzels.
5. Grey Sail Taproom
Grey Sail is the resident beer garden and taproom Westerly. In 2011 Grey Sail moved to Westerly and took up shop in a renovated old historic building next door to their brewery. Come in to try their vast selection of beers to sample or drink your favorite. We like the Captains Daughter, but who doesn’t. Grey Sail has also expanded outside of downtown Westerly so if you aren’t able to make it to the tap room then call up your local packy to see if they have any Grey Sail in stock. Stop in to the tap room and beer tap room for an awesome time with good people and support good local people! Their beer garden is even dog friendly so your pooch can enjoy the outdoors while you sip on some craft beer.
