Restaurant week may be over but we are still not over it. It was a phenomenal week with tons of delicious food. So we decided to grant some best of awards! We are only going to give out awards to the places that we went to. It wouldn’t be fair to give out awards to the places we didn’t go to, plus we can only give grades on personal experience.

AND THE WINNER’S ARE…
Best Appetizer:
Brazen Hen’s Bavarian Pretzel w/ Beer Cheese
This was an amazing pretzel! It was light and fluffy, and perfectly salted. We fought over the last bit of the pretzel! This pretzel had a lasting impression with us and we still dream about it. Definitely plan on coming back for another pretzel, but we’ll need to order more than one!

Best Main Course (Lunch): Cooked Goose’s Oscar Sandwich
Holy Moly this sandwich was delicious! I wasn’t even able to finish the whole thing because it was so filling. It had a rich and unique flavor with the garlic boursin and the horseradish mayo. Thinking about this sandwich just makes me drool.

Best Main Course (Dinner): Venice’s Flat Iron Steak
So this dish was memorable from every aspect from the vegetables, the steak, and the mashed potatoes. It was all 100% perfection. I could eat those mashed potatoes everyday and with every meal. The steak was also cooked perfectly, was juicy, and required for steak sauce.

Best Dessert: TIE!!! Venice’s Chocolate Cake & Guytanno’s Carrot Cake
This was a hard choice. There technically wasn’t a bad dessert the whole week and we loved every dessert that we had. I really wanted to pick all five but there has to be a winner, or a tie. Venice’s chocolate cake was rich, fudgy, and decadent. It’s flavor was enhanced by the raspberry syrup and whipped cream. Guytanno’s also had a delicious carrot cake. This cake was moist, and flavorful. The icing wasn’t too sweet but was the perfect richness. Having the fruit with was also refreshing touch.

Best Overall Experience: Venice Restaurant
From beginning to end Venice gave excellent service and all around experience. The service was impeccable, each entree was wonderful, and we left feeling overjoyed. Their menu had many options on it that were hard to decide between and that is what helped push Venice to the top spot. We enjoyed every restaurant during restaurant week but Venice had a lasting impression that left us wanting to immediately go back with family and friends.

Biggest Upset…Upset we didn’t get to try it out: Phoenix Restaurant
Unfortunately we did not make it to Phoenix but we really wanted to. I think if we had gone they would’ve given Venice a run for the money. Each of the courses looked amazing and like it’d be a hard time choosing just one thing. One thing that had us bummed was that they also have an entertainment schedule that looked like so much fun! I mean they have country line dancing, trivia night, and so much more! We may not have gone for restaurant week but we will definitely make it there soon.

We had an excellent time at Westerly Restaurant Week. The countdown to next year has already begun. We hope everyone had a wonderful time as well.
