Originally founded in 1953 with a loyal following for their coffee and hand-cut donuts, Bess Eaton had over fifty locations during the height of their success. After being sold to Tim Horton’s and then launching once again by four former employees who had registered the name as an LLC in 2011, Bess Eaton currently has four locations with one being right here in Westerly.  If you are a New-Englander like I am, this is not news to you.  You have probably eaten one of their famous donuts at some point in your lifetime.  Bess Eaton has undergone many changes in its long history but one thing remains, the original recipes for coffee and pastries.  Here at Westerly Food we are a little addicted to their donuts.  The dough itself is not sweet, which is a really nice contrast to the super sweet frosting and fillings.  Our favorite is, and will always be, the “fancy shot” donut.  A little shout out to the staff at our local Westerly Bess Eaton- no matter what time of day we stop in, or how busy they are, they are polite, friendly and on their game!
