On Wednesdays we like to hit the pavement and get lunch to go. The mid-week laziness has set in and with so many great take out spots in Westerly it is a great day to give ourselves a break. Today we stopped in at Ritacco’s Market on Oak Street to get a prosciutto grinder. I had not been to Ritacco’s and did not realize what a treat I was in for. This shop reminded me of how life must have been at one time when everyone visited their local market to pick up what they needed for the night. A real neighborhood market. Grinders, pizza and many Italian specialties- they also do catering.
Stuffed to the brim with floral scented prosciutto, this grinder was incredible. For $7.25, one large grinder will feed two of you. With a $20 minimum for credit cards, you will need to bring cash if you just want a quick lunch. While we went in for a grinder, we couldn’t help ourselves and bought a little Italian cheese and some pasta while we were there. If you are looking for a quick and easy lunch give them a try!
