Last week I stopped in at Sift Bake Shop in Mystic where I left with a ham and cheese croissant. Although they will gladly heat it there for in shop eating, I brought mine home and heated it up in the oven. You will not find a better croissant this side of the Atlantic than those at Sift. I like to think of myself as a bit of a croissant connoisseur – I know a good one when I find one. Trust me when I tell you these are the BEST – they really are. The stuffed croissant was just as good as my favorite plain breakfast versions; flaky and buttery and full of yumminess. Filled with Virginia baked ham and Gruyere cheese it was super filling and could have fed two of us- but I managed to eat it all myself.
