One of the best parts about Westerly is that even after living here for a year and a half I have not yet visited all the fabulous places to eat.  Today, much by chance, I was speaking with someone who asked if I had been to Joyce’s Everyday Gourmet located in the Mill Pond Plaza on Franklin Street.  Not only had I not been there, I had not even heard of it despite frequent trips to McQuade’s Ace Hardware and the fantastic little fabric shop located in the same spot.  If you haven’t been let me be the first to tell you that this place is amazing! Lovely, lovely people and so many choices.  I was there for a sandwich but oh my goodness, you can get an entire meal for you family, starters for parties and desserts that will satisfy every sweet tooth out there.  I ordered a delicious focaccia bread stuffed with roasted peppers and breaded chicken.  It had a bit of heat and was really enough for two meals.  I also decided I couldn’t leave without the triple layered chocolate cake which was begging me to take it home…and although I had every intention of sharing it with my kids I might have to hide it away for a late night snack! Joyce’s Everyday Gourmet should be on your list of take out favorites.  I know our family will be visiting again soon!
